…
all of a sudden, she disappears—then reappears as if nothing ever happened. when her emotions begin to stir and the pressure gathers beneath her calm, before anything inside her can reach the point of breaking, she shuts everything out. that is what justifies her sudden disappearances.
her emotions are not anyone else’s responsibility; they are hers alone to carry. to keep them from spilling over onto the people she speaks with, she withdraws. not because she lacks emotional control, but because she has mastered detachment, and detachment is the only defense she knows well.
she isolates herself, allowing the darkness to devour her. not in destruction, but in quiet consumption. it absorbs everything that has been stirring inside her: agony, despair, anxiety, exhaustion. all of it moves and collides beneath the surface, disturbing the unruffled tranquility she works hard to keep.
so when she disappears, do not question the silence. instead, understand the soldier who stepped into the lion’s den and fought her battle alone. her disappearance is not a rejection of what she has; it is a confrontation with what presses against her—that only she can tame.
and when she regains control, her emotions return to their rightful place, settled within their own quiet space. at first there is only an outline, a silhouette where she once stood. then, little by little, it becomes clearer until her presence returns naturally—no announcement, no explanation—just her, standing there again as if she had never really left.
in silence and patience,
aki
