meeting you online could have easily been temporary, just another name in a conversation, another passing exchange in a digital world that forgets quickly, but you stayed. not constantly, but consistently. over the years, through gaps in communication and separate seasons of growth, our bond did not weaken. it deepened. you became someone i could talk to: love, heartbreak, about the past versions of ourselves we sometimes laugh at now.
across distance and time, we do not need daily updates to prove connection. we share realizations. give advice without judgment. laugh at the absurdity of our own love lives. hold space for each other’s truths. hangout to release our unspoken stress. you listen with intention. you respond with care.
even in the quiet spaces between our conversations, you are someone i value deeply. you deserve a love that stays. a love that does not confuse you or make you question your worth. i hope genuine love finds you and remains steady in your life. and more than anything, i hope you are gentle with yourself. be kind to your own heart.
this valentine’s day, i celebrate you as my friend. thank you for the laughter, the late realizations, the advice we give each other like we are both experts and still learning. you are seen. you are appreciated. and i pray your life is as gentle as you are.
with hearts and gratitude,
aki
